The 6-3-1 exhaust design from 1982 to 2008
After a break of 15 years we embarked on a modernisation of the old 6-3-1 system which had previously been handmade by 2 specialists.
The main idea was to bring in a much more modern motorsports quality part, using a thin wall light weight stainless steel TIG welded construction and with a big revision in the previous problem areas of the early (prototype) design.

The weakness of the prototype (and the part which stupid companies have invariably copied, and is universally hated) were where the 3-1 slip joints joined and often leak. The pipe lengths, and particularly the dimensions, were also supposed to be equal to give a good pick up from about 2600rpm with very few flat spots.
Because of the non crossflow design of the Triumph 6 cylinder, we had to make some compromises of space, particularly where Weber and SU fitments were used.
Fuel injection made life a lot easier because of the extra space.

This meant a huge struggle to get some sort of central silencing arrangement to fit between narrow chassis rails, AND some sort of attempt to get a top grade silencing system to look similar to the original one on the car, to get adequate ground clearance.
I think you will agree, the final result is an esthetic and performance success.
We aim to produce these in small quantities, and for particularly discerning users.
